Our
Services

Physicians Billing and Management Services (PBMS) has been providing practice management solutions for physicians and ambulatory surgery centers since 1983. Our clients include private practice and hospital-based physician groups specializing in Anesthesiology, Cardiology, Female Pelvic Medicine & Reconstructive Surgery, Interventional Radiology, Neurology, Orthopedic Surgery, Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery, and Urology. PBS offers customized services which include billing, coding, credentialing and contracting.

Procedure and Diagnosis Coding

PBMS provides coding services including dictation and EHR template review and analysis by AAPC Certified Coding Professionals proficient in ASA, CPT, HCPCS and ICD-10. Coding of surgical dictation is also offered.

Electronic Claims Submissions

Claims are submitted electronically daily to every capable payer via Payerpath, our clearinghouse, to ensure our clients receive reimbursement as quickly as possible. Claims are “scrubbed” against payer edits to reduce rejections or denials.

Insurance Verification and Authorization Tracking

Our practice management software includes both batch and real-time eligibility verification so staff will know if a patient is eligible at the time of service. The system also tracks authorization usage and alerts staff when prior authorization is required.

Credentialing

Our credentialing services include completion and maintenance of paper and online applications including CAQH. PBMS will serve as point of contact and provide requested documents to facilities and payers.

Contract Negotiation

Based on industry and local standards PBMS will analyze fees and reimbursements and prepare proposals and renegotiation requests to payers. Operating under a confidentiality agreement Physicians Billing and Management Services will prepare letters of interest and complete insurance contracts and letters of agreement.

Software

Physicians Billing and Management Services has chosen Allscripts software for its innovation in healthcare technology. Based on specific needs a custom database is configured for every client. Our practice management software interfaces with Cerner, Meditech, MobileMD, Modernizing Medicine and Phoenix Ortho. PBS staff is also familiar with other software vendors’ systems such as AdvancedMD, eClinical and NextGen.
